Constitution Day & Citizenship Day

Each year on September 17, CURE recognizes Constitution Day and Citizenship Day in observance of the signing of the United States Constitution in 1787. The Constitution established the framework of the federal government and continues to protect the rights and freedoms of all Americans.

As part of this annual observance, CURE encourages students to learn about the history of the Constitution, the principles of representative government, and the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. Understanding these principles helps students become informed members of their communities and prepares them to participate thoughtfully in civic life.

Constitution Day provides an opportunity to reflect on the importance of the rule of law, individual liberties, and the democratic process. Students are encouraged to explore the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the amendments that have shaped our nation throughout history.

CURE observes Constitution Day annually in accordance with federal requirements for institutions participating in Title IV federal student aid programs by providing educational information and activities for students.
