APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AID

How to Apply for Financial Aid

Applying for financial aid is an important step in financing your education. CURE encourages all eligible students to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Step 1: Create Your StudentAid.gov Account

If you do not already have one, create your StudentAid.gov account (FSA ID) at:

https://studentaid.gov

Your FSA ID allows you to securely complete and sign your FAFSA electronically.

Step 2: Complete the FAFSA

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at:

https://studentaid.gov

Be sure to list CURE so your FAFSA information is sent to the institution for financial aid review.

Step 3: Review Your FAFSA Submission Summary

After your FAFSA has been processed, you will receive a FAFSA Submission Summary through StudentAid.gov. Review the information carefully for accuracy and make corrections if necessary.

Step 4: Submit Requested Documentation

Some students may be required to submit additional documentation, including:

  • Tax information

  • Verification worksheets

  • Identity verification

  • Other documentation requested by the Financial Aid Office

Respond promptly to avoid delays in processing your financial aid.

Step 5: Receive Your Financial Aid Offer

Once all required information has been received and reviewed, eligible students will receive a financial aid offer outlining the types and amounts of aid for which they qualify.

Step 6: Accept Your Financial Aid

Students should carefully review their financial aid offer and complete any required acceptance steps.

Students borrowing Federal Direct Loans may also be required to complete the following through StudentAid.gov.:

  • Entrance Counseling

  • Master Promissory Note (MPN)
