HOW FINANCIAL AID WORKS

How Financial Aid Works

Paying for your education is an important investment in your future. CURE participates in eligible federal student financial aid programs to help qualified students finance their education.

Financial aid may include grants, loans, scholarships, and other educational funding. Eligibility is determined in accordance with federal regulations and each student's individual financial circumstances.

Types of Financial Aid

Federal Pell Grant

The Federal Pell Grant is awarded to eligible undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need. Unlike loans, Pell Grants generally do not require repayment if all program requirements are met.

 

Federal Direct Loans

Eligible students may qualify for Federal Direct Loans to assist with educational expenses. These loans must be repaid according to the terms established by the U.S. Department of Education.

Federal Direct Loans may include:

  • Direct Subsidized Loans (when available)

  • Direct Unsubsidized Loans

Cost of Attendance

The Cost of Attendance (COA) represents the estimated educational expenses associated with attending CURE. The COA may include:

  • Tuition

  • Fees

  • Books and supplies

  • Transportation

  • Food and housing

  • Personal expenses

 

Students are encouraged to review CURE's current Cost of Attendance and utilize the Net Price Calculator for individualized estimates.

 

Eligibility

To receive federal financial aid, students generally must:

  • Be enrolled in an eligible program.

  • Meet applicable citizenship or eligible noncitizen requirements.

  • Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).

  • Complete all required federal financial aid documentation.

  • Remain eligible under federal student aid regulations.

 

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

Students receiving federal financial aid must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress in accordance with CURE's SAP Policy. The complete policy is available in the School Catalog and Consumer Information section of the website.

 

Financial Aid Disbursement

Financial aid funds are applied to eligible institutional charges according to federal regulations. Any remaining credit balance will be processed in accordance with applicable federal requirements.

 

Verification

Some FAFSA applications are selected for verification by the U.S. Department of Education. Students selected for verification must provide any requested documentation before financial aid eligibility can be finalized.
